Drumline

I personally do not like this movie. I thought I would enjoy this movie when I saw it because i’m in percussion but it made me disappointed. The choice of actors weren’t good, they needed a more variety of actors in this film. This movie also has a boring plot. It’s basically about a group of freshmen who are trying out to get on their college drumline which is difficult to get on your first year. The movie showed the battles they needed to go through to get on the Line. One positive thing I can say is that it showed was percussion is about. Music is very important in their lives, they eat breathe play music 24/7. There are drumline battles between schools, and how the freshmen get treated whether its in college or in high school. The freshmen always get the harder life.
I do not recommend watching this movie but here is a trailer anyway. If your interested in watching something alike I recommend watching drumline documentaries.

Despicable Me

I saw Despicable Me over the break and I knew I had to blog about it. I have to say this movie is the cutest movie I have ever seen. It doesn't have the same plot as other Disney movies. Steve Carell plays a super villain named Gru. He believed he was the best villain until someone stole the Egyptian pyramids. Gru needed to find out who stole it and beat them. A villain named Vector stole it, which now is the best villain. Gru needs to find a way to be the best villain so he decides to steal the moon. But he needs to over come some obstacles. He needs to steal Vectors shrink ray, so Gru adopts some girls so when they sell cookies to him he can plant a robot in his house. Gru ends up loving the girls and keeping them. But there we uncalled issues that happened in the process of getting the moon. I am able to watch this movie over and over and not get tired. The adopted girls are extremely cute. Inception

Over the break I saw the movie inception and realized I haven't written a blog about it yet. This movie by far messes with your mind. for this movie to be completely understood you cannot miss any part, and you need to be focused. Leonardo Dicaprio stars as a man named Cobb whose job is to take out valuable information from someones dream because they cant defend themselves and wont know anything is going on. Cobb would do anything just so he could go back home and see his children. There was a business offer made to Cobb, if he did the job successfully he could go back home. But the job was to insert and idea in someones mind and when they wake up to keep that idea going. Cobb took on the job but he had a problem, in dreams there are projections. Projections are images from your subliminal mind which you cant control. And one of Cobb’s projections was his wife who passed away. The reason he knew inception was possible was because he planted an idea in his wife's mind and when they were in reality she believed she was in a dream. So when you kill yourself in a dream you wake up. But she killed herself in real life. This entire movie is about Cobb trying to realize he can’t keep his wife in his dreams and to get back home to his kids. The ending is truly unbelievable, and I think this movie can be enjoyed by anyone. to watch a trailer click here. Inception

Tron Legacy

I saw Tron Legacy in 3D during the break and I have to say its a great movie.  This movie is about a father and son and their relationship. One night the dad, Kevin Flynn was telling his son, Sam a bed time story about another world called Tron. Kevin is a video game designer. Sam’s dad had to go finish something at work and he never came back. When Sam’s dad didn't come back he decided to run away and not carry on the video game industry. Many years later, one of Kevin's friends found Sam and told him that his father is trying to contact him from the old arcade. Sam goes to the arcade and takes a look around and finds a secret opening. In this room there was a special machine that took you to a different world call Tron, the world that Sam's father created. Sam soon realized that all the stories his dad use to say to him was real. But there was a problem. Sam’s dad made a program of himself to help finis up Tron named Clu, but he became bad an now he wont let kevin go back to the real world. Sam wont leave till he has found his father a way out of Tron. The 3D graphics are very well done and the sound track for the movie pairs perfectly with all the action. To find out if sam leaves Tron with his dad I recommend watching this movie. To watch the movie trailer click here. Tron: Legacy

Elf

Elf is about elf that finds out he’s a human and when he was little Santa went to an orphanage and Buddy (played by Will Ferrell) crawled into Santa’s toy bag and he went to the North Pole. Buddy was raised as an elf he thought he was the same as everyone else till his adopted father told him he is human. Buddy decides he wants to go to New York City to see his real dad. The only thing Buddy knew about his dad is where he worked. Once Buddy gets to New York City he finds the empire state building where he meets his dad but his dad thinks he is a Christmas gram. Buddies father didn’t believe him so he had a DNA test done and he realized that Buddy was his son. Buddy try to live his life as a human but he cant help him self. Buddy forms a bond between his father’s family which his he doesn’t approve of. Though out this whole movie there are many funny scenes to try to get his dad to accept him and to love him. Will Ferrell is one of my favorite actors. He did a great job in this film. To see a trailer click here. Elf

Deck the Halls

Christmas is almost here so I decided to blog about a holiday movie. In Deck the Halls Matthew Broderick plays Steve but around town everyone calls him Mr. Christmas. Steve saw that a family was moving in the house across the street from his. Danny DeVito plays Buddy Hall. Once Buddy moved in his twin daughters looked up their new house on satellite Internet and they couldn’t see their house. Buddy then decided he wanted his house to be seen from space. He converted his house into a holiday spectacle. Everyone around town came to watch his house light up and see the visuals the light pattern made. Steve didn’t like Buddy because Mr. Christmas was his title and the light and music wouldn’t allow him to fall asleep. Steve’s journey to regain his title back and to make peace with his new neighbor is hilarious. Buddy was able to make his wish come true by making his house the brightest. This movie put me in the Christmas sprit and I hope it works with you to. To watch a trailer click here. Deck the Halls.

Monster-in-Law

The other day I was watching this movie with my family and all I remember is that I couldn’t stop laughing. I have seen this movie numerous times and it’s hilarious. Jennifer Lopez plays Charlie and she meets a very nice man named Kevin played by Michael Vartan. Kevin decided to bring Charlie to meet his mom but she was nervous. Charlie ended up being fine but out of no where Kevin proposes to Charlie in front of his controlling mother. Kevin’s mother is named Viola played by Jane Fonda and she con not imagine her son having another women in hi life except herself. She thinks that he just proposed cause she though that Charlie was pregnant. Charlie’s mother in law only has one thing to do and it’s to make her go crazy and leave her son. She does investigation on Charlie and tries to find out her past so she has something to tell Kevin. Charlie found out that Viola was ruining her life on purpose so they would break up. Charlie figured she could get back at Viola for all the things she has done to her.
