Paranormal Activity

I haven’t written a review about a scary movie on my blog so paranormal activity is the first. Personally I’m not a big fan of scary movies but I like shows about ghost and haunted houses so I figured I’d be able to watch it. I didn’t think this movie was scary. There were a couple of moments that made you hold your breath and wonder what’s going to happen but it’s not scary. Katie featherston and her boyfriend Micah Sloat move in together. They both seem to hear things at night so Micah buys a camera and leaves it on when they fall asleep hoping to catch something on tape. Katie calls a paranormal researcher to come to the house and tell her what is going on but he says he cannot help. He gives them a demon specialist phone number but the specialist wasn’t available to come to their house. The paranormal researcher told them it’s not the house and that it’s a sprit that is following Katie. She had a bad experience when she was a child with her sister in their old house. Paranormal activity is about overcoming the demon that’s following Katie. If you’re interested in watching this movie you can watch a trailer here. Paranormal Activity.

  1. Once again, another good choice of movies! I love how you decided to mix-it-up and blog about a horror movie for a change. I have seen this movie once in theaters and once at home. You are dead on with the fact that it just wasn't that scary. I would definitely say that it was more frightening when watching it in theaters because many people believed that it was real footage from a true story. But obviously that is not true, as it was said in the credits at the very end of the movie. The second time watching it I barely even flinched once. Anyways, it was a genius idea for Steven Spielberg to market this movie because it was so cheap to make and very easy to attract millions of viewers. And now they just mad a second, which I am sure will do even better than the first. Thanks for the blog post! Keep up the good work!

  2. Mrs. Stoklosa's twin is in this movie! I didn't think this movie was scary at all until the end when she gets dragged out of the room. Other movies have had much greater affects on me than this one. It was very well made and i would watch it again. I can't wait to see the second one.

  3. I saw this movie, (I think it was paranormal activity 2 though), I hated it. I felt like nothing really happened, the “movie” just showed the same shot of different parts of the house over and over and over and over….
Every ones in a while something did fall or you would hear a random noise, and this alone would scare everybody in the theater. Other than things falling though I could not detect any real storyline until the end when they tried (but failed) to make something scary happen.
Overall a horrible, boring movie, I would not wish anyone suffers the torture that is watching it.

  4. I kind of wish I did see the first one but hearing everyone talk bad about it made me think why waste my time. I ended up seeing the second one though. I thought it started off slow but overall it was a really good movie. I do like scary movies but as long as I'm not watching it by myself! The movie was actually really scary and well actually believing the things that happened in the movie doesn't help at all!
